PEORIA, Ill (WMBD) — It’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Illinois from Feb. 28-March 4.
A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding, while a Flood Warning means that flooding conditions have already begun or have been reported.
Here are some tips to know before storms roll in:
- Seek higher ground when waters rise.
- When driving, avoid flooded roads and bridges, “Turn Around Don’t Drown.”
- It only takes a few inches of water to carry off a car or truck.
