Boot Camp: Farmington

National Sports

After a blowout loss in the first round of the 3A playoffs, Farmington spent its offseason hitting the weight room. Head Coach Toby Vallas said his Farmers were “manhandled” by Sterling Newman, so his team wants to make sure it won’t be run over again in 2016.

Some schools may be satisfied with a playoff berth. Farmington is not one of those schools.

“That’s not really our goal,” senior receiver Eric Higgs said. “We want to make it further than that. We know Farmington is a better program than that, and we’re going to get it up to par this season.”

Farmington kicks off Aug. 26 at Mercer County.
