ELMWOOD, Ill. — The Elmwood-Brimfield Trojans can hardly wait for the football season start.
They hope it helps erase the last year’s finish.
The Trojans won the first six games of the 2018 season, then lost at Farmington in a showdown of unbeaten Prairieland Conference powers. Elmwood-Brimfield didn’t win again.
The Trojans dropped the final three games of the regular season and a first round home playoff game to Princeton.
“Not only did we not realize, ‘wow that’s not how we want the season to end,’ but it mended us together as a family this time. Instead of individual parts,” said senior Nick Keith.
Elmwood-Brimfield’s players say they had a great summer program of conditioning and flushing out the taste of last year.
“I think some of the guys definitely did not like how it ended last year,” senior William Kellogg said. “I think we definitely have gotten a lot better, as juniors coming into our senior year. We have gotten a lot better.”
