PEORIA, Ill. — They are the defending Missouri Valley Conference champs and will return three starters.
But the Bradley Braves will certainly have a new look for the 2019-2020 basketball season and it’s starting to take shape now.
The team is six weeks into summer practices with veterans Darrell Brown, Nate Kennel and Elijah Childs leading the way.
The team is allowed to practice for four hours a week together on the floor in the summer. Players also conduct individual workouts.
However, newcomers outnumber the returnees. LSU transfer Danya Kingsby, New Jersey guard Stephan Gabriel and guard Antonio Thomas of Memphis are among the first-year Braves fighting for rotation time.
Incoming foreign players Rienk Mast (Netherlands) and Ville Tehvanainen are the only newcomers not on campus currently. All of the BU players are enrolled in summer school.
Bradley won its first MVC Tournament since 1988 last March.
