Former ISU Coach To Take Over at SMU

Sports

Larry Brown’s abrupt resignation at Southern Methodist University is opening the door for Tim Jankovich.

Finally.

Jankovich left Illinois State in 2014 to become SMU’s coach-in-waiting. He served as the associate coach next to the 75-year-old Brown. When Brown didn’t get the long term contract offer he sought from the Dallas school, he stepped down Friday.

It appears Jankovich’s four-year wait to take over the SMU program is over. Jankovich was 105-64 in five seasons as ISU’s coach.
