BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Chris Payton had scholarship offers up and down Interstate 74.
Bradley and Illinois State offered early. Illinois offered the summer.
The Bloomington 6-7 junior is staying home. Payton announced on Twitter Thursday night that he's attending ISU.
"It's kind of more of a relief, honestly," Payton said of ending his recruitment. "It's something that I really wanted to do and it was definitely something that made me happy when I made the decision. They definitely showed a lot of love when I did."
Payton, who took the Purple Raiders to the Class 3A state semifinals in March, won't be able to sign his National Letter of Intent until next November.
He is a Limestone High School legend.
