Boot Camp: Prairie Central veteran coach takes over the program. Team looks to make playoffs again

FAIRBURY, Ill.–Prairie Central has some momentum coming into this season.

The Hawks went 7-2 last year before a first-round playoff exit.

First-year Head Coach Andrew Quain takes over the program, but he’s not a newcomer to Prairie Central.

This will be his 14th season as part of the Hawks staff.

“It doesn’t feel a lot different, just a few more responsibility, a lotmore of the book keeping stuff. Their motivation has been great. Their attitudes have been great, we are working hard every day,” Quain said.

“We’re definetly more hungry this year. We’re thinking against the people in our conference, we can get a better seed for the playoffs and maybe get a home playoff game,” said Hawks Senior Landon Jones.

Prairie Central is home against Rantoul coming up Friday night.
