TOULON, Ill.–The Rebels missed the IHSA playoffs for the first time in 23 years last fall.
They’re young this year, 26 of their 38 players are either freshman or sophomores.
The starting QB is a sophomore who hopes to put his team back into playoff contention this fall.
“I think we are pretty motiated to make it back to the playoffs after not making it last year.”I think everyone was upset about that. so this year, we want to show everyone that we are coming back,” said Stark County Sophomore QB James Groter.
“They want things to be differnt and they have been through the first week and a half of practice. There’s pretty positive vvives coming from us. The kids are woring hard and they are looking forward to getting some games under their belt,” said the Rebels’ Head Coach Jade Noard.
Stark County opens the season at Farmington on Friday night.
