PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — For the first time in 27 years, the Bradley men’s basketball team earned the top spot as the Missouri Valley Conference champion.

With a final score of 73 to 61, the Braves came out on top against Drake Sunday evening as they claimed the regular-season title.

Rienk Mast: “The entire Carver Arena packed, I’ve never seen that before. It was amazing.”

Kurt Pegler/WMBD Sports: “So satisfying you’ve look and dreamed about that trophy. Now you’re holding it.”

Rienk Mast: “Exactly. this is what we’ve put all those extra hours of shooting in for, film, all that ‘One More’ mentality. This is the result.”

Ja’Shon Henry: “This as always been the goal of our through the progression of the season. In all my years here we always wanted to do this. Being able to do that with this group, is something special. These guys are my brothers for life.”

Ville Tahvanainen: “It’s been 27 years since Bradley won the regular season I’ve been able to win the conference tournament but not this. It definitely felt amazing in front of these people here.”
