PEORIA, Ill. — Eight student-athletes at Dunlap High School signed college sports commitment letters in a school ceremony on Tuesday.
Three athletes from the two-time defending state girls track champions signed their letters: Acacia Roberts (Truman Sttae), Brittany Rainey (Grand Valley State) and Lizzy Hoenes (U Mass).
Basketball standout Kyle Hawthorne signed with Southwestern Iowa College, soccer star Sierra Cenek signed with Illinois-Springfield and Kailey Smith signed with Carleton College volleball.
Two members of the Dunlap lacrosse team signed college letters as well. Anthony Zowin is headed to North Central College and Mitchell Jester will play at Lindenwood.
Two seniors at Elmwood High School signed their letters, as well. Two-sport star Charlie McKinty signed with Illinois College basketball and Tanner Blum signed to play golf at Carl Sandburg College.
