It was a big signing day at both Dunlap and Dee-Mack High Schools on Thursday.
Three Dunlap seniors signed National Letters of Intent with Division I track programs. Pole vaulter Jack Pompe (Illinois), jumper Aanise Sanja (Illinois State) and heptathlete Savannah Sullivan (SIU-Edwardsville) signed their letters at a morning ceremony inside the school gym.
Also making college sports commitments at Dunlap on Thursday: Kacie Evans (Aurora University track and field), Austin Klokkenga (Olivet Nazarene University track and field), Hannah Scherder (Nebraska-Kearney volleyball), Emily Smith (St. Louis University swimming), Rebecca White (Mid-America Nazarene softball), Bailey Cline (North Park softball), Miranda Kruiswyck (Central College track and field), and Rachel Barrington (Carl Sandburg softball).
Eight seniors at Deere Creek-Mackinaw High School also signed with college sports programs. They are McGwire Bottorff (William Penn wrestling), JD Deany (Illinois Central college baseball), Cauriana Johnson (Lincoln College track and field), Dawson Jones (Millikin basketball and baseball), Faith McGinnes (Lincoln College volleyball), Ashley Melton (Lincoln Land Community College volleyball), Mikayla Moore (Monmouth College cross country/track), Dalton Myers (Millikin cross country/track) and Lydia Wiegand (Missouri Southern State volleyball).
