Curley ‘Boo’ Johnson has seen it all.
He hadn’t seen the museum exhibit that bares his name until Tuesday. He called it humbling.
The achievements of the Peoria native and former Harlem Globetrotter are on display at a new exhibit at Peoria’s Riverfront Museum. The exhibit called “Curley Boo Johnson: Celebrating Achievement,” includes memorabilia from his days as a Peoria High School player, a Loras College star and a member of the world famous Globetrotters.
“I hope that people can come here and see that the hard work pays off,” said Johnson as the exhibit opened.” And that I am an ambassador for being too small, not being able to jump or have quickness, or shoot. And look what I’ve done.”
The exhibit will run through June.
