Former Globetrotter Returns For Camp

Curley Boo Johnson Camp Opens Monday

DUNLAP, Ill. - Curley "Boo" Johnson calls it a homecoming.

Everyone else calls it basketball camp.

Johnson, a former Harlem Globetrotter from Peoria, returned home to start his tenth "Skills For Life" basketball camp. And over 400 players showed up.

"People want to be a part of it. And when you see the response, it's overwhelming for me and it's very fulfilling as well," said Johnson, a Peoria High School graduate. "It's a homecoming for me and I love being able to do this. I'm glad the kids want to be a part of it."

The camp, which is for boys and girls ages 9-14, runs through Friday at Dunlap High School.
