Hess Steps Down As Normal West Coach

Darren Hess Resigns After 15 Seasons

NORMAL, Ill. - Normal West is the latest school in the Twin Cities to start a search for a head football coach.

Darren Hess resigned Thursday after 15 years as the Wildcats' coach.

Hess was 96-56 all-time and took 12 teams to the playoffs. In a statement, Hess called the decision to resign "difficult" but wants to spend more time with his family and is considering pursuing a Master's Degree.
