On the surface it looks chaotic.

“It’s kinda chaos, but it’s organized for sure,” said Metamora senior Thomas hall. “We’re getting everything. If you forget something, you have to go back through the boxes. Make sure you get it.”

Hall and his Metamora basketball teammtes helped make Thanksgiving, and the days afterwards, a little brighter for some people in need. They filled 100 food baskets with food staples for area families.

And that was just the tip of the ice berrg.

BITE: Lisa Obery/Metamora project: “They came early this morning, loaded the boxes from the grocery store, brought them here to Christian Union Church, and stacked all the food items,” explained Community Basket Drive chairwomen Lisa Obery. “Then they came back after school and practice to fill the boxes for us.”

The chaos was actually team work that helped turn a week long job into a one-day job. And hopefully is making the holidays a little brighter around Metamora.

“It’s great to be a part of something like this and have the whole team be a part of it,” Hall said. “It’s an honor, for sure.”
