Mike O’Reilly was named a Midwest League All-Star on Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday night he showed why.
O’Reilly needed just 85 pitches to craft a two-hit shutout as the Peoria Chiefs beat Kane County, 6-0 at Dozer Park. O’Reilly (4-1) struck out three and walked one.
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong cut short his second rehab game in Peoria. He left in the third inning with what he called a forearm strain.
