PEORIA, Ill. - Charlie Mangieri called it a huge day.
The Dunlap High School all-state football star signed his National Letter of Intent with Northwestern on Wednesday, the first day of the new December signing period.
"It means everything. It shows all of my hard work paid off with all of the coaches, said Mangieri. "(Dunlap) Coach (Brett) Cazalet has really helped me. I have been waiting for this day since I committed early spring last year."
Two of Peoria High's starts, lineman Marques Cox (Northern Illinois) and running back Geno Hess (Southeast Missouri State) signed their letters as well. However, Peoria High quarterback did not sign his letter with the University of Illinois.
Lions head coach Tim Thornton says Taylor is fully committed to the Illini and hopes his star quarterback will sign later in the week.
