Roanoke Upsets Top-Seeded Rivermen

Maxime Guyon scored twice as Roanoke beat Peoria, 4-3, and swept the top-seeded Rivermen out of the SPHL playoffs.

Roanoke, the fifth-seed, jumped out to a 4-0 lead and hung on as the Rivermen scored twice in the third period to make it a one-goal game. Peoria won 40 games during the regular season and lead the league from wire to wire.
