Redbirds Try To Return to Normal

National Sports

Illinois State is back at practice.

Trying to get back to normal. But things are hardly normal in Normal following the Redbirds upset of Northwestern last weekend.

“I had the 99-plus texts on my phone after the game,” said ISU senior receiver anthony Warrum. “It was awesome to see a lot of people enjoyed the game, enjoyed going to it or watching it on TV. Had a lot of fun.”

The Redbirds beat Northwestern, 9-7, on a field goal on the final play of the game. It gave ISU its first ever win over a Big Ten school.

“It’s been really exciting,” said senior lineman Cam Lee. ” A lot of people had good things to say, they said they watched it on TV or people come up to you in class with something nice to say. It’s been really cool.”

The Redbirds host Eastern Illinois at 2 p.m. Saturday.
