PEORIA Ill.-The German-American Central Society is hosting the 63rd National Sängerfest of the North American Singers Association in Peoria this May.
A mass chorus concert of approximately 1000 voices will be held at the Peoria Civic Center Arena on Saturday afternoon, May 18 at 5:00 p.m.
General Admission tickets are $10.00 and can be picked up at the Peoria Civic Center Box Office.

The first Sängerfest was held in 1849 in Cincinnati, Ohio, with 118 singers attending. It has been held every three or four years since that time at various cities such as Pittsburgh, Louisville, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Buffalo, New Orleans and many others.
With the help and support of the Peoria Area Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, the German-American Society began planning the Peoria event four years ago.
